We’ve been robbed...!

Sometime either late on Friday 3rd or early on Saturday 4th Feb we had a carefully planned raid on the roofing timbers waiting to be installed.  The gates were pulled down, the padlock/chain removed and we believe 17 of the 150 mm diameter, 4 M long beams abstracted.  Tyre tracks and a fresh spot of oil point to a single or dual cab pick-up having been used - this load would weigh well over 800kg so it would be well loaded as well as physically bulky.  Any sightings or news of cheap materials on offer  will be followed up as the police have all the information. They arrived very promptly in the village and gave sterling service.  The ‘residents’ are considering installing a heavy duty gate to control vehicle access as there have been other thefts recently... Including the neighbours steel ‘I’ beam and a couple of ‘Pithari’ from another house. ******* April 2012 Newsflash*******

The harsh weather continues, but the builder has made it for a couple of days work and the remaining lintels are installed in the west wing, the walls are getting rebuilt and even the double-arched niche has been restored,  Almond blossom lifts the morale...
